Sigh...

It's back to work for me tomorrow. I hate it. I can't believe 12 weeks has gone by. This sucks.

Times like this I am super bitter about not having my children in Canada where I would be getting 12 months of paid maternity leave to be with my little ones.

Can you tell I'm not super happy? Is it Friday yet?

Happy Birthday to Me!!

Today I turned 30! The big 3-0. The point in my life that I am expected to freak out about getting old and leaving behind my youth. Funny thing is, I couldn't care less. I have a theory that the people who freak out about turning 30 the most are those who are not sure what they want out of life. Those who made goals that are un-met. Or those whose life just isn't where they want it to be. I, thankfully, am not one of those people.

Don't get me wrong. There are plenty of things in my life I need to/want to change. But overall I have everything I could want. I have three beautiful, healthy children. I have a career of almost 10 years. I have great friends and family and a beautiful home. All of these things far outweigh any negatives in my life and for that I am grateful and not worried about turning 30.

Another bit of good news. I had my appointment with my neurologist yesterday. He is super happy that I have not had any further symptoms or flares since my diagnosis of MS 2 years ago. Usually even those who have controlled MS still have 2-3 flares per year. We also decided not to do an MRI since I was doing so well. I do need to stay very vigilant about possible symptoms though since I am still in my high risk 4-6 month post partem period for a severe flare. If I do start having symptoms I am to start steroids right away as a treatment. I am hopeful that I will be fine.
Tonight for my birthday the twins had a play date with our twin group. So for my birthday I got to spend the night with 50 twins and their siblings at a local bounce house and then enjoy a pizza party. To make up for it, tomorrow night my parents will take me out to a favorite restaurant for dinner and then come home to a delish Cold Stone Cake.
Here is a pic of the twins with their new shirts that my good friend Jenn sent for them, for their birthday. They were a big hit at the twin play date!

Two Month Doctor's Appointment

M went to the doctor today for his 2 month check up. He weighed in at 12 pounds 4 ounces, although that was with a wet diaper so I'm thinking closer to 12 pounds. He is 23 inches long although I think most of that is legs! I had to move him into 3-6 month clothes this week because his legs are way too long for all the 3 month outfits.

He got three vaccines and although he cried when they first went in, he recovered pretty quickly. The doc checked his neck and felt like he didn't have tortocollis but that we would keep on eye on it since I was concerned. His right eye still has a blocked tear duct which will hopefully resolve on its own. He also caught a cold that went around the house last week but except for a stuffy nose, he seems to be fine.
We're now good for another two months. The twins have their four year old visit in a few weeks, a dentist visit and I have an appointment or two too. I feel like I see way too many doctors!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

My first babies turned 4 today! I don't know where the time has gone. While it's hard to remember life without them, it doesn't seem so long ago when they were tiny babies.

We celebrated today with family and friends. The kids wanted a Spongebob Party at a local Bounce House. A friend did an amazing job on their cakes and the kids got a ton more toys.

My main gift to them was a bounce house. Unfortunately it's still very cold and wet out so the kids got to bounce for a minute and then we put it away. Hopefully they will get more use out of it when it warms up.

9 Weeks

Not much new to report. M is still doing about the same. Great during the day, fussy at night. He is smiling up a storm and close to laughing. Developmentally he seems right on target. My only concern is a frequent head tilt which may be torticollis. He has his 2 month appointment on Monday so I will mention it then.

And in scary as hell news....I was downstairs while M was upstairs sleeping. I suddenly heard S saying "Mommy...she's not dropping him!" I immediately ran to the stairs to find K holding M and half way down the stairs!!! I grabbed M and freaked out on K! She must have gotten him out of the pack n play in my room and started to bring him down to me! I guess I can't trust them around the baby anymore.

8 Weeks

My sweet baby boy is 8 weeks old today. It's been a great eight weeks and M has really been such a wonderful baby. He is smiling up a storm, starting to make noises and coo and spending more time awake and interacting with us. He is still a very fussy baby for a few hours every night, but the good far outweighs the bad.

The twins still like him, but their behaviour seems to be a little out of control lately. I am having to be the bad mom and start enforcing stricter rules. I don't know if it's the baby or the age, but they are definitely testing my limits.

Overall, things are going well. I'm trying not to think too much about going back to work in three short weeks. I am a little panicky thinking about it. Hopefully everything will go smoothly!
