What Has Happened the Past Few Days...
S
On Wednesday I got a call from the school saying he had a temp of 101.8. I went and got him and although he felt a little warm, he seemed and acted fine. Since he had to be fever free for 24h he was home with Q all day Thursday. Well he complained about his ear hurting that afternoon. I was able to get off of work early. I ran home and took S to one of the CVS Minute Clinics - which by the way are awesome :0) He did indeed have an ear infection and was started on meds. He had a quick recovery an was back to school Friday.
Scentsy
Had a great Scentsy party on Saturday. It brought in over $400 and I had about $300 of outside orders. This is awesome since I am trying so hard to save money for our trip to TX in August. And speaking about Texas...tickets are bought and time off work is booked. I am excited and nervous all at once. As an added bonus, a few days ago another friend asked to do a basket party, and I am setting that up this week!
The weather was beautiful this weekend. We had lots of fun outside. All my kids love to be outside. Max would live out there if I let him. It has been nice because I have been able to leave the back door open and let Max come and go as he pleases - I have a gated deck out back full of outside toys. This week will be pretty busy followed by a busy weekend. Hopefully I'll have some good pics to share.

Can You Help Me?
The whole Scentsy thing has been going very well. I have had a few parties and many of my friends have been very supportive of my endeavor. I have really done better than I could have imagined!
Right now I am trying to make level two in Scentsy's New Consultant Shooting Star Program. I get a nice bonus if I reach this level. Since I never thought I would even get close...and now I am close, I want it :o)
So...I know I have a bunch of readers out there...if you would like to order something...and in the process help me sell just over $300 of Scentsy before December 26th, I would be very grateful! Order before December 18th for guaranteed Christmas delivery! And my site will even take orders from Canada.
If you feel comfortable, let me know you've ordered and I will give you a discount for a future order. Click on the picture in the sidebar on the left.
Thanks!

Adoption Fundraiser
On December 4th I will be participating in an adoption fundraiser for a friend who is trying to adopt. I'm sure many of you remember my dear friend J who suffered a major loss this past May, losing her son at 31 weeks gestation. Well, she has since started an adoption plan, and was even matched with a birth mother, however that match fell through. I will be participating in a vendor party where all vendors will be giving J their commission on all sold products.
If you are looking for any Scentsy items to give as a Christmas gift, this is a perfect time to buy. All orders are guarenteed for Christmas delivery. Please click on my 'Warmer Link' to the right if you are interested in helping. Click on Jenn's Adoption Fundraiser on my main page for your purchase to benefit her :)
Thanks!

Sweet Rewards :)
Last Saturday I had a Scentsy Party for a friend. I honestly thought I would sell a few hundred dollars and earn myself a warmer and some scents. Well, amazingly enough I sold $1145 worth of stuff :0) This was great because it got me some great rewards, but I also was working to help this friend make a business challenge for the month of October.
For my rewards I received...
4 Mid Size Warmer Kits - All teacher gifts :)
1 Mid Size Nursery Kit - For M's room
1 Scent Buddy - for M's stocking
1 Large Warmer Kit - Living room
1 Large Warmer Kit - My Bedroom
6 Pack of Bars
I only paid about $60 out of pocket for everything...Nice eh :)
Now the only thing this doesn't help is I was thinking of selling it before this party. Now with this success, several people wanting to do parties and several ore saying they want to order more, I am very tempted. I know it would never bring in any real money...but it could be fun :0)

So Much For Taking That Leap
A month later and I still can't get this machine to work properly. I have joined support groups and education forums with no luck. I have spent about $50 on additional needles and stabilizers with no luck. I still haven't turned out a product that is worth anything.
I went to a Singer store today to get some help. Can you imagine my surprise when I was told that this Singer Store no longer carried Singer because the quality was so poor and the machines were pieces of shit. Wow. A Singer Store that refuses to carry Singer products. I guess that says it all.
I emailed Singer's customer service today. I hope I hear from them soon. If I can get someone to take this crappy machine off my hands I'm not even sure if I want to keep trying. I will have to think about it I guess. With my depression out of control right now, this failure is not what I needed.
I'll keep you updated.

Help May be on the Way
This is how I feel. I think this machine is against me. It has plotted against me from day one. Nothing is ever easy. But I think help may be on the way. A friend who owns a home business, who does embroidery, has offered to come over and help me with my machine. She is very good at what she does. I am so happy that she has offered me this and I will definitely take her up on it.
I get to work all weekend (Oh Joy!) so hopefully I will be able to set something up next week.

It's got to get easier right...
I hate my machine right now. I can't get it to work the way I want to. Every time I think I have it figured out....I don't. I want to use some fancier fonts and make the shirts more pretty but I'm thinking right now, that's not possible. I will just have to stay simple for now. I think tomorrow I will be able to sew the two shirts for my friend and then next week I will make the remainder of my shirts.
Keep me in your thoughts :)

I'm Getting There
Here is my practice run for two shirts my friend J wants. The actual shirts will be red and I'm looking for a thicker font. I'm think white may show up better. Either way I think I have this figured out. I am going to make some shirts and then post them on Ebay. Once I am sold out of all the shirts I have then I will make the decision on whether or not to continue this. I hope I do, but to be honest it's a lot more work then I thought. Of course that may change when I figure it out, but right now I am uncertain about how far I will take it.
At least I will always have the machine and I can always do small things for the twins and friends.

Well I Have Been Playing...
I got my machine today. I am working out the kinks and will probably have to work through the weekend on it before I can make anything worth selling. I am figuring it out though. Hopefully I'll be in production next week :)

So I'm Taking the Leap....
I'm taking the risk, and I'm going for it. I am going to try and start my own little small business. I will invest between $500 and $1000 into it and pray that I at least make my money back. I have bought my machine and I have looked into where to buy supplies. I have even registered my domain name.Twice as Nice Embroidery will be a small side business that will focus on shirts and personalization for multiples. I have spent hours on the net looking for shirts for my guys and have usually run into dead ends. When I do find something I like, it's usually $20 for one shirt. I hope to be able to keep costs to about $10 a shirt. These Tee's will also be embroidered vs just screen printed.
I hope this works. Spread the word. This extra bonus money I am getting from work next month is what is paying for this. I have many other things I could be doing with it, but I hope this might open a few doors for me.
