I am slowly working at getting my financial life into order. It will be at least another year before I think I will be able to say that I am where I want to be, but I am taking the steps now that will get me there.
This week I turned in all my stuff to finalize my refinancing. I should be able to reduce my payments by almost $400! In addition to that, I am shopping around for new home owners insurance which should result in slightly more savings. My car should be paid off by the end of the year. That's an additional $300 a month. So I am super excited that next year I will have an additional $700 a month to pay down my other debt.
Who knows. If I can get my weight loss going, by this time next year maybe I will be ready to TTC again!

Frustration Part Two
I called K's doc again today around noon. They didn't call back until about 5:30p and it was the receptionist, not the doctor, GRRR. They stated they have received the dictation and that the consult was sent off. When they get the appointment time they will call me. Anyone want to take bets on when I will hear back from them? I am thinking MAYBE late next week. Maybe I should call everyday until I hear from them. Become so obnoxious that they beg to pass us onto the next doctor.
I am starting to freak about money again. K's leg had already cost around $500 and we haven't even gotten to the expensive stuff yet.
Add that to.....
Broken A/C two weeks ago...
Auto Insurance Renewal due...
Dog that I have to bail out of the shelter...
A Work Certification I have to pay for...
I am not sure I will sleep very well tonight.

Why Do I Have Insurance?

So every paycheck I pay over $100 in premiums for insurance that I don't think does much. I am still getting denial letters about K's emergency room visit. We need to make individual and family deductibles before they will pay. Well it looks like for an $800 visit, I will be paying over half of that. I am on medications monthly that insurance doesn't want to pay for. I need 60 pills and they will provide 30 and charge me an outrageous $40 for. I am going through the appeals process now, but if they charge me $80 a month for them, I will be figuring out a way to live without them. S needs sealants for his teeth. Insurance is debating still on whether or not they will pay for that. I have honestly thought about dropping my kids from my insurance and getting them both on Medicaid. My income would actually allow that, the deductibles are next to nothing and so many more things are covered.
Sad, right...that I do the right thing and get screwed for it.

$400...
That's how much I spent on groceries today. This shop will last for 2 weeks. Holy shit! Why does it cost so much for a family of four!
I will admit there were some non-normal purchases
- A 2009 Calendar ($10)
- A Magnetic Board ($9)
- A Box of Wipes ($9)
- Toilet Paper ($13)
- Dog Food ($15)
- Laundry Detergent ($15)
- Fabric Softener ($5)
So that's about $80-$90
Plus one store I went to had some really good sales. Buy 2 get 3 Free Juices and same for Popcorn so I stocked up. They also had some Buy one Get one Free stuff and I stocked up on too.
So maybe my $400 bill was about $150 extra things but still. OUCH! I will be very curious to see what my grocery bill will be like in two weeks. It better not be much, because crap, I can't afford it!
